Give those bags a boost with a daily vitamin D spray!
A team of anti-aging experts has claimed that winter ages a woman's eyes by nearly five years, the Daily Mail has reported.Adonia Organics carried out a clinical study over four seasons with 5,000 women.
It found that 82 per cent of women aged between 27 and 60 suffered from dark circles and puffy eyes in the winter as opposed to just 38 per cent in the summer.*
The report concluded that dark circles under the eyes are made worse by a higher level of tiredness in the winter months and could be due to lower levels of Vitamin D and serotonin.
Vitamin D is a vitamin and pro-hormone which is rarely found in natural foods. Our bodies naturally produce it by synthesising ultraviolet light from the sun. It is required in the body to make proper use of calcium for stronger bones and teeth.
But it can also play a part in our mood and energy levels. In the summer most will feel more alert and brighter because our serotonin levels are increased due to more sun exposure.
So when winter arrives we more often than not look a bit pasty, feel lethargic and pretty down in the dumps.
Dark circles are usually caused by tiny capillaries that leak blood beneath the surface of the skin which turn a dark blue colour, resulting in puffy eyes.
Unless we are one of the St Tropez revolution, this becomes more obvious in winter as skin becomes more transparent due to lack of sun and tanning. In fact, lacking in vitamin D can age a woman by 4.7 years, putting more than ten per cent on a woman's age of 40.*
There are some encouraging findings in the research though, as it did find that women salvaged their youthful good looks in the summer once the cold, dark nights eased – thank goodness!
But what about now? Although there’s no miracle cure to expel those tired looking eyes for good, a vitamin D supplement can boost levels of the sunshine vitamin, and may give women the lift they need to banish the dark circles, for the winter months at least.
BetterYou™ has developed the market’s first oral vitamin D3 spray. DLux 3000 – our highest dosage daily spray - and DLux 1000 are designed to deliver a high potency of vitamin D in the body.
By spraying under the tongue, absorption is enhanced by the body, delivering the vitamin directly in the bloodstream rather than the digestive system.
So banish those bags ladies, we’re here to help!
